Every window of a leading department store in Nashville, Tenn. this past summer bore a card reading, "Are you grateful enough for being able to live where you do live today?" Propaganda, you say. Perhaps, but it brings a thought applicable to the Tredyffrin- Easttown History Club.

Philadelphia has been termed "the cradle of liberty". While literally we do not live in the shadow of Independence Hall, we are near enough to prize, more than people, elsewhere, that freedom which is our heritage. But how many of us visit Independence Hall, Old Christ Church, the Betsy Ross House, or even our own Valley Forge? That tourists from other states recognize the value of these shrines is evidenced by the number of foreign licenses. We travel miles to see places not nearly so significant.

Fortunate indeed are we to live in such an environment. Drive through our historic valley, the site of military maneuvers and encampments during the Revolution, to Valley Forge, and renew your school day history and enthusiasm. You will gain a new appreciation of the privilege we enjoy of close association, with this great national shrine.
