In Memoriam: Emily Wilson Nassau

Page 31

Her name was Emily Anderson Wilson Nassau, but to many of her friends she was simply "Pat". A former president of the History Club, she enlivened many of its meetings with her cheerful personality and amusing anecdotes and bits of local lore.

A native of nearby Bridgeport in Montgomery County, Pat Nassau lived almost all her life in Tredyffrin Township, on the Wilson Farm on Swedesford Road north of Paoli. She was the daughter of C. Colket and Emily Anderson Wilson. She was graduated with the the 1915 class of Tredyffrin-Easttown High School and from Wellesley College.

After graduation, she married William Latta Nassau Jr. They had three children, Emily (Hill), Maree (Stilwell), and William L. Nassau III.

Active in the Girl Scouts for more than 4-5 years, and at one time chairman of the Chester County Council of Girl Scouts, she was also a director and secretary of the Great Valley Citizens Association; a member of the Diamond Rock School Association; the Philadelphia Wellesley Club; and the Washington Memorial Chapel; in addition to her membership in the Chester County Historical Scoiety and Tredyffrin Easttown History Club.

On December 6, 1980 Pat Nassau died at the age of 82, after a brief illness. She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
