One of our newer Club members, Bella M. Sprowls, died on October 23, 1984, after a lengthy illness, at the age of 72. She was the wife of Wilbur W. Sprowls, also a Club member.

She was born in McMurray, Georgia, the daughter of George and Lizzie Himmeger Douglas. After she had graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit, she attended Penn State, where she earned her master's degree in education.

For twelve years she taught first grade at the Roberts Elementary School in Wayne, before retiring in 1972,

In addition to being a member of the Tredyffrin Easttown History Club, she was a member of the Chester County Historical Society and of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and was also a member of the Wayne United Presbyterian Church.

She is survived, in addition to her husband, by two daughters and four grandchildren.

Her cheerfulness and good humor will be remembered, and missed, a tour Club meetings.
