George's uncle passed a hat around going from door to door to collect enough money to put the iron fence which is presently surrounding the Supplee Cemetery. For many years the cemetery was left uncared for and unprotected from the trash of passers-by and the vandalism of the younger generation, and some of the tombstones are gone. There is no official record of the burials in the Supplee Cemetery and there is only one known copy of the tombstones in the graveyard, with none being made for the recent burials. There are three (or more) graves with no stones and there are quite a few stone markers with no identification on them. Some of the unknown dead are men from Philadelphia who had requested burial at Mt. Pleasant. All the people buried in the Supplee Cemetery are white and are of the original settlers of Mt. Pleasant, so that there are a few plots which are yet to be filled. The cemetery is still in use." Supplee Cemetery Copied by Charles Barker
