For many years an active member of the Tredyffrin Easttown History Club, and more recently an honorary member, Sara B., Nuzum passed away on February 11, 1986 after a brief illness. She was 96 years old, and before her death, Berwyn's oldest native citizen.

William and Sally Nuzum, her parents, came to Berwyn (then still known as Reeseville) in 1877, moving into the Old Hall on what was then Church Avenue (now Main Avenue). Her father for many years was the town lamplighter.

She attended the local public schools, and for twenty-five years worked as a clerk for the Pennsylvania Railroad, retiring in 1943. She also at one time did dress-making in the shop of Frank Opdyke in Berwyn.

She was the oldest member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Berwyn, having joined the Church in 1911, and was a charter member of the Berwyn Garden Club, and active in the RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) of Chester County.

She contributed several articles to earlier issues of the Quarterly, and during the Bicentennial observance wrote a series of "Berwyn Briefs" for The Belfry, the bulletin of the Trinity Church.

She was survived by several nieces and nephews, and also a number of grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was buried in the graveyard of the Great Valley Baptist Church.
