Herb McCorry's recollections of the Mack Oil Company were transcribed from his informal presentation to the Club last fall shortly after the company had marked its 60th anniversary in Berwyn. He is now the chairman of the board of the company which his father started in 1931, and has been associated with the business since its beginning except for four years in the Navy during the Second World War.

One reason for our traffic problems today is that we are still using roads that date from before the Revolutionary War. In our second article is a reproduction of a portion of a map prepared by British Army engineers for the use of General Sir Henry Clinton during the Revolution, showing the major roads and prominent landmarks of that time.

The need for roads to get to meeting, mill, and market is reflected in the road petitions submitted to the Court of Quarter Sessions in the 18th and early 19th century. Seven of these petitions are transcribed in our next feature in this issue.

Of a more recent period is the next article, in which Hob Borgson recalls when the Conestoga High School marching band and band front took part in the famed Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, California.

And in our last article we look at the way in which the local citizens, through the Berwyn Citizens' Association, dealt with the problems of garbage disposal and the need for street lights and sidewalks in Berwyn in the early decades of this century.
