Page 29

A long-time resident of Paoli and active member of the Tredyffrin Easttown History Club in the 1980s and 1990s, Virginia “Jinks” Kolderup died suddenly on December 28, 2004 in Connecticut while returning with her husband, LeRoy, from a family Christmas visit. She was 81 and would have celebrated her next birthday in eleven days.

Jinks was a native of Amory, Mississippi. She and LeRoy first settled in this area in 1953 when the Burroughs Corporation started its Research Center in Paoli.

She was an elder and choir member at Trinity Presbyterian Church n Berwyn. Her love for music and singing led to service as vice-president of the Main Line Symphony. Jinks took part in the resettlement project carried out by her church at the end of April 1975 when 83 refugees from Vietnam were taken in, cared for, and placed in local homes until they could establish new lives in America. She prepared a nomination for a Humanitarian Activities Award received from the Freedoms Foundation by the Rev. Dr. Robert W. Bohl, pastor of the church. She wrote an article about this," 'Tu Do' (Freedom): The Story of the Vietnamese Resettlement Project," published in the July 1981 issue of the Tredyffrin Easttown History Club Quarterly.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Susan, and a son, Steven, a minister of a Presbyterian church in Georgia, two grandsons, and a sister. She is remembered fondly by all for her leadership capability and for her love for people. Doing the right thing was very important for her.
