At our public meeting on Sunday, October 21, 2012 the featured presentation was:

Clarissa Dillon (October 1999)
at Gadsby's Tavern in Alexandria, VA

How The Civil War Influenced The American Revolution

by Clarissa F. Dillon, Ph.D.

When people hear the title, they think there has been some mistake. Not at all – this is something completely different. It has been 150 years since the American Civil War. This program offered an unusual way of considering two familiar American watershed events that happened almost a century apart.

Clarissa is an independent scholar known for her work as a researcher, demonstrator, and interpreter of 18th-century women's work. She is a member of the Society and accomplished speaker with a doctorate in History from Bryn Mawr College. This program represents a change from her usual activities as an historian.

This presentation was held at the Easttown Library & Information Center in Berwyn, PA starting at 2 pm.
