Small Historical Repositories in Pennsylvania by Anastasia Matijkiw What sorts of cool things are tucked away in the collections of small historical societies, churches, community organizations? HCI-PSAR Archivist Anastasia Matijkiw helped us to learn more about the many small archives and collections around the area, and some of the fascinating finds that have been brought to light. The Historical Society of Pennsylvania's Hidden Collection Initiative for Pennsylvania Small Archival Repositories seeks out and evaluates these small archival repositories, and then creates “finding aids” to these collections so that researchers may search these small but important collections. The Tredyffrin Easttown Historical Society is one of the many organizations that have benefited from this initiative. |
